Career with poker

Jennifer Harman established herself in the game with poker at the age of 36. During this time, the American participated in the No Limit Deuce to Seven Lowball event at the World Series of Poker alongside stars Lyle Berman and Steve Zolotow. In terms of curiosity, Harman had never played that game format, but star Howard Lederer made an effort to teach the player the format moments before Harman's participation. Therefore, from there, Jennifer Harman was able to win the title and receive the first WSOP bracelet, along with the amount of US$ 146,250.

Two years later, in 2002, Jennifer Harman took home her second bracelet by making a splash at the table in the $5,000 No Limit Hold'em event. Here, Harman had to face Mimi Tran, Humberto Brenes and Allen Cunningham to become the great champion and pocket the sum of $212,440 and the second WSOP bracelet.

After winning two titles in such a short period, Harman has established herself as the first woman to hold two bracelets in open tournaments on the tournament circuit. However, in the sequence other women entered the list, as in the case of Vanessa Selbst, Loni Warwood and Kristen Bicknell.

After these moments, in 2004 Harman ended up undergoing a surgical procedure for a second kidney transplant, due to kidney problems. Therefore, the pro ended up staying away from the poker tables for a while.

However, Harman eventually resumed his poker activities and even managed to finish fourth in the World Poker Tour's Five-Diamond World Poker Classic event. In addition, the pro was also ranked fifth on the Professional Poker Tour. In these appearances, Harman did well at the WSOP Circuit Pro Championship in Rio and finished runner-up.

Since the beginning of her achievements, Harman has also had a stake in the educational world of poker. In the book Super System II, Jennifer wrote the chapter called "Limit hold'em". Inspired by the female world of poker, Harman was the only woman to constantly play Bobby's Room's "Big Game".

Having said that, Harman was one of the members of "The Corporation", a group that contained high-ranking poker players, where games started at $100,000 and $200,000. During this period, in 2007, Harman took the inaugural runner-up at the World Series of Poker Europe within the H.O.R.S.E event, which was held by Thomas Bihl.

Charity

After 2004, Jennifer Harman founded Creating Organ Donation Awareness (CODA), a non-profit organization aimed at raising money for the organ donation cause. In addition, Harman is also an active contributor to the Nevada Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (NSPCA).

According to figures collected for the year 2021, Jennifer Harman had already crossed the US$2,700,000 mark in her journey with poker. Among that amount, $1,502,859 were earned through the World Series of Poker. Due to her contribution to poker, in the year 2015 Harman was inducted into the Poker Hall of Fame.
