Dustin Brown

Preview:
This is a match for the 1st round of the Stuttgart ATP 250, the first grass tournament of the season. It’s a faceoff between two players that are well adapted to this type of pitch.

Analysis of J. Janowicz

Jerzy Janowicz, a 24 year old Polish player, standing 2.03m tall, likes fast pitches. He is currently 50th in the ATP Ranking and reached the semi-final at Wimbledon last year.

Janowicz is usually very irregular during the matches. His service is strong, as well as his right hand stroke. Mentally and physically he is unstable and has had problems recently.

Jano started 2015 in good shape and reached the 3rd round of the Australian Open, as well as the final in Montpellier, but unfortunately he had to forfeit due to an injury in a match against Gasquet. The clay season was negative for him and his results were poor. But with the beginning of the grass tournaments he is likely to recover and do better.

Analysis of D. Brown

Dustin Brown is a 30 year old German player, standing 1.96m tall, currently in the 104th position of the ATP ranking. His favourite pitch is grass, in which he has defeated Nadal last year. Brown got through the qualifying rounds with good wins, the last of which against Michael Berrer.

Brown has a very peculiar style. He uses all sorts of strategies in a single match and one could say he has an anarchic style. He also alternates excellent moments with bad ones during the match. He sometimes plays like the number one ranked, and others like an amateur. His service is quite good and in most of his points he tries to finish by the net. From the back of the court, he likes to take chances and get winners, so he usually gets it or ends up with an unforced error.

This season, the German has not been able to give his best yet, so he left the Top 100, but he is likely to recover after a few grass tournaments. His best result so far was the quarter- finals in Doha.

Betting suggestion:

This is a match in which service will be the key. Janowicz and Brown both have good service strokes and usually don’t allow many breaks. They are both good in grass as well, so they should be motivated and focused throughout the match. Therefore, we expect a balanced match and believe there will be at least a break.
