Guillermo Garcia-Lopez

This is a match for the Queens ATP 500, a grass tournament played in London. This is a head to head between Dolgopolov, who eliminated Nadal in the last match, and Garcia-Lopez, in what is the last match of the day.

Analysis of A. Dolgopolov

Alexandr Dolgopolov is a 26 year old player, 1.80m tall, with 2 titles won in his career. He is currently in the 75ª position of the ATP ranking, due to a recent injury, but he should climb soon. Dolgopolov has eliminated Nadal in the first match, so he should be highly motivated.

The Ukrainian likes to play in all sorts of matches, but prefers fast pitches, that favour his style. Dolgo is very unstable and depends too much on his confidence levels. He has a strong service stroke and likes to use powerful strokes from the bottom of the pitch, which are hard to deal with by any opponent. He also has a great slice, likes to vary his game and moves about brilliantly.

Dolgopolov has had a few physical problems last season, so he didn’t start this season in great shape. He registers 14-12 so far, but we expect him to improve these numbers soon. His best result was in the Miami Masters, in which he was eliminated by Djokovic.

Analysis of G. Garcia-Lopez

Guilhermo Garcia-Lopez is a Spanish 32 year old, 1.88m tall, who prefers clay. In indoor tournaments he has also done well, but isn’t too keen on grass. He is currently in the 34th position of the ATP ranking.

Garcia-Lopez has a lot of experience and usually plays well from the bottom of the pitch. He is less aggressive than the Ukrainian, but makes that up with regularity, since he usually doesn’t make many mistakes. In the first match he eliminated Andujar, who isn’t well adapted to grass, in straight sets.

Guilhermo has won 5 titles in his career, 2 of them this season. He has a record of 21-13 this season, which is quite good. He won titles in an indoor tournament in Zagreb and in a clay tournament at Bucharest. With the beginning of the grass tournaments, we don’t expect him to keep up this excellent level.

Betting suggestion:

Dolgopolov is a very aggressive player, which is very important in grass. But he is also very unstable, so we don’t know what to expect from him in this match. However, he is still the favourite. Naturally, the odds in favour of the Ukrainian are too low, due to the win over Nadal, which means they are of no value. Garcia-Lopez will need to be in a good day to win, but we believe he may do so.
