This Tuesday, Uruguay and Colombia face at the Centenario Stadium, Montevideo, in a match for the 2nd round of the 2018 World Cup Qualifiers.

Analysis of Uruguay

Uruguay is one the South American national teams with the most tradition. This current generation is of great quality and has therefore naturally qualified for the last world Cup. Despite having played in one of the hardest groups, with England, Italy and Costa Rica, they finished 2nd and reached the first knock-out round, in which they were eliminated by Colombia, by 2-0, so they now have a chance to get their revenge.
In this year’s edition of the Copa America, they got through to the quarter-finals, but were eliminated by host Chile after a 1-0 loss. In these first rounds they cannot count on several players, like Cavani and Suárez. But in their debut against Bolivia they have done well without them, winning an away match against Bolivia, at La Paz.

Confirmed Lineup: F. Muslera, J. Giménez, M. Pereira, D. Godín, M. Cáceres, Á. Pereira, M. Corujo, C. Sánchez, Álvaro González, D. Rolan, C. Stuani.
Coach: Ó. Tabárez.

Analysis of Colombia

The Colombians also have one of their best generations of footballers of all time, which has been confirmed with great results in recent years. In the last World Cup Qualifiers they had a great run and finished 2nd with the best defence of the competition. In the last World Cup, they had a perfect performance in the group stage and finished 1st, after 3 wins. But in the first knock-out round they were eliminated by host Brazil. Nevertheless, they had their best performance in a World Cup ever.
In the last edition of the Copa America, they finished 3rd in the group stage, like Uruguay. But in the quarter-finals they were eliminated by Argentina after a penalty shootout. In their debut in these Qualifiers, they have beaten Peru by 2-0at Barranquilla. They now wish to win against Uruguay to get the lead.

Confirmed Lineup: D. Ospina, C. Zapata, S. Arias, J. Murillo, F. Fabra, E. Cardona, F. Guarín, C. Sánchez, T. Gutiérrez, C. Bacca, J. Cuadrado, C. Bonilla.

Betting suggestion:

This is a match between two teams that are usually known for a strong marking, therefore, we expect a slow and tactical match, mostly played in midfield, with few goal chances, which is why the Under 2.5 Goals seems to be of good value.
