Preview:
Tigres faces Emelec in the Monterrey University Stadium, in a match for the 2nd leg of the Libertadores Quarter-finals. In the first leg match we witnessed a balanced match with goal opportunities for both teams, but Emelec was more fortunate and used the home advantage in their favour, winning by 1-0.

Analysis of Tigres UANL

The Mexican team has had a great continental event so far. In the group stage they won 4 matches and tied 2. In the knockout rounds they were competent in the first round, winning 2-1 in the away match against Universitário de Sucre and managing the advantage in the home match with a 1-1 draw. But in this 1st leg match of the quarter-finals they were unfortunate. After wasting a few goal opportunities, they allowed Emelec to score in the last minutes.

Although they have had good exhibitions, they have lost momentum in the last few weeks, in matches for all competitions, since they haven’t won in the last 5 matches. In the Mexican Championship, they have been eliminated in the Quarter-finals of the Clausura Tournament by Santos Laguna. Therefore, they are now totally focused on the Libertadores, a competition in which they need to win to qualify for the next round.

Confirmed Lineup: N. Guzmán, H. Ayala, I. Jiménez, J. Rivas, Jorge Torres, G. Pizarro, J. Dueñas, E. Esqueda, Rafael Sóbis, J. Guerrón, G. Lugo.
Coach: Ricardo Ferretti.

Analysis of Emelec

The Ecuadorian team has suffered to qualify in the group stage. In a very balanced group, Emelec had a good start and seemed ready to finish 1st in the group, but three consecutive negative results have complicated things and they only qualified in the last round by beating Universidad de Chile by 2-0 and finishing 2nd.

In the first knockout stage, they had a hard time against Nacional de Colômbia. They lost the second leg match 1-0 but qualified after having won 2-0 at home. Emelec has not lost a home match yet in 2015 and are now ready to manage another advantage in an away match, so they are optimistic about reaching the next round.

Confirmed Lineup: E. Dreer, J. Guagua, J. Narváez, G. Achilier, O. Bagüí, F. Gaibor, P. Quiñónez, O. Lastra, E. Herrera, M. Bolaños, M. Mondaini.
Coach: O. De Felippe.

Betting suggestion:

This is going to be another hard match and that the odds don’t reflect the reality of this match. We believe Emelec will demonstrate once more they are a balanced and competitive team, which is why we suggest the +0.5 Asian Handicap in favour of Emelec in the first half.
