Analysis of Internacional

Internacional is the only Brazilian team left in this competition. They have reached this semi-final after eliminating Atlético Mineiro.

The last round for this competition was over a month ago, because of the Copa America. During this period, they have played several matches for the Brazilian championship and lost a few times, against Flamengo, by 1-2, Atlético Mineiro, by 1-3, and Sport, by 0-3. In the last round they won against Joinville by 0-2. However, they played against a much weaker team, so naturally they had to win.

Despite these last disappointing results for the Brazilian Championship, it’s important to notice that this is another competition, so we expect a different Internacional, more focused and motivated, which will surely play better and make good use of the home advantage.

Confirmed Lineup: Alisson, Ernando, William, Alan Costa, Geferson, A. D'Alessandro, Valdívia, C. Aránguiz, Rodrigo Dourado, L. López, Nilmar.
Coach: D. Aguirre.

Analysis of Tigres UANL

Tigres has been one of the best surprises of this competition. They have shown that Mexican football is much stronger than many would think and that Mexican teams are ready to take on teams from traditionally stronger countries like Argentina and Brazil.

Some of the best players of Tigres are well known by the Brazilians, like Rafael Sóbis (former Internacional player) and Guerron (former Atlético Paranaense and Cruzeiro player). Their coach, Ricardo Ferreti, is Brazilian, but is relatively unknown there.

They haven’t played since May, when they faced Emelec and won 2-0, in the quarter-finals. Tigres has played an offensive football from the beginning of the competition, always with many players involved in offensive play.

Confirmed Lineup: N. Guzmán, H. Ayala, Juninho, I. Jiménez, J. Aquino, José Torres, G. Pizarro, E. Arévalo, A. Gignac, J. Damm, Rafael Sóbis.
Coach: Ricardo Ferretti.

Betting suggestion:

Internacional should get back to winning, but for that to happen they need to score goals. On the other side there is a team that is dangerous in offense, but that should play a cautious match. Therefore, despite caution by both teams, we believe there will be a few good goal opportunities for both teams.
