Preview:
This Wednesday, Brazil and Colombia face at the Monumental Stadium, in Santiago, in a match for the 2nd round of the 2015 Copa America. This is probably the most interesting head to head in Group C and could define Brazil’s qualification or Colombia’s elimination. Brazil has a great advantage in the head to head history, since they have lost only 2 of the last 27 matches. Moreover, their last defeat was in 1991 and they haven’t lost any of the last 14 matches.

Analysis of Brazil

Brazil has changed a lot since the World Cup. In preparation matches for this event and in the Confederations Cup they have had great results, but since then they have gotten worse. In the World Cup they had the support of the fans, since they hosted the event, but still didn’t do as well as expected. They were eliminated by Germany after a heavy 7-1 loss. Moreover, they lost against Holland and ended the competition in the 4th place. After these negative results Brazil now has a new coach, Dunga, who has improved their exhibitions and results.

With Neymar in a great moment, Dunga has had good results so far and registers 11 consecutive wins, in what is the second best positive sequence of the team. In the first match for this competition, Brazil faced Peru and was much stronger, but still conceded the first goal of the match. But Neymar had a great exhibition and helped the team with a goal and an assist for the second. They now wish to get another win and guarantee qualification.

Confirmed Lineup: Jefferson, João Miranda, Dani Alves, Thiago Silva, Filipe Luis, Fred, Willian, Fernandinho, Elias, Roberto Firmino, Neymar.
Coach: Dunga.

Analysis of Colombia

Colombia has one of the best generations of football players ever and has had great results in the last years. In the qualification stage for the World Cup, they finished second, with the same wins as leaders Argentina. In the World Cup, they won all match in group stage and eliminated Uruguay in the first knockout stage. But in the quarter finals they faced Brazil and were eliminated after a 2-1 defeat. But their participation in the World Cup was much celebrated in the country as they had their best performance ever in this competition.

In this Copa America, Colombia is one of the favourites to win. Moreover, they register a sequence of 7 consecutive wins in preparation matches. But they haven’t done well on their debut. In a match against Venezuela, they were tactically well organized, but had a few problems creating offensive play and lost a few good goal opportunities. On the other hand, Venezuela was very efficient and took advantage of one of the few goal opportunities to score the winning goal. In this short tournament, their margin for error is short, so another defeat will mean elimination. But the team hopes to get a good result against Brazil and counts on their many good players to fight for the win.

Confirmed Lineup: D. Ospina, C. Zapata, C. Zúñiga, J. Murillo, P. Armero, J. Rodríguez, C. Sánchez, E. Valencia, T. Gutiérrez, R. Falcao, J. Cuadrado, C. Bonilla.

Betting suggestion:

We expect a hot match between these two teams, due to outside pressure. But in the field both teams are in good shape, presenting an offensive and attractive football. Brazil is obviously dependent on Neymar, but the team should have alternatives. In this match, despite this transition state of Brazil, we expect them to use their technical superiority to beat Colombia.
