Analysis of Rudar

Rudar and Karabakh Agdam face at the Pod Malim Brdom Stadium, in Petrovac, Montenegro. The home team needs to win to qualify, after a goalless draw in the 1st leg match, but the opponent is the favourite to win. They have presented a defensive strategy in the first match, but at home they need to win to avoid the penalty shootout. Therefore, Rudar should attack more in this match. This is the second time they play in the CL and in case they qualify it will be their best result ever.

They qualified for the CL after winning the national title with a 3 point advantage. They were offensively strong and ended the competition with an average of 1,75 goals per match, but their defence was even better, the best of the event, with an average of 0,54 goals per match. In this match they expect to do well defensively, as they have done in the championship, since a goalless draw will allow them to at least play a penalty shootout.

Confirmed Lineup: M. Radanović, Đ. Đurić, D. Nestorović, M. Radišić, R. Živković, M. Jovanović, P. Brnović, N. Vlahović, I. Ivanović, M. Vuković, I. Knežević.
Coach: S. Bajić.

Analysis of Qarabağ

In the 1st leg match Karabakh dominated but didn’t make good use of the goal opportunities they have created and couldn’t do better than a goalless draw. In this match they need at least a tie with goals to qualify, so they shouldn’t have any problems playing offensively. Last season they played the group stage of the Europa League, so they now wish to reach the group stage of the Champions League.

Karabakh has had a positive last season in the Azerbaijan Premier League, since they have won the title with a 5 points advantage. They were neither best defence nor best offense, but they were the team with the most wins. However, they did get interesting averages: 1,59 goals scored and 0,87 suffered per match. Karabakh has also had good away results, so they wish to make use of this strength to qualify.

Confirmed Lineup: I. Šehić, B. Hüseynov, M. Medvedev, A. Agolli, Q. Qarayev, A. El Jadeyaoui, R. Almeyda, C. Diniyev, Dani Quintana, Reynaldo.
Coach: R. Sadıqov, Q. Qurbanov.

Betting suggestion:

The home team has created good goal opportunities in the first match and was very competitive, so they should at least get a good result by half-time. Therefore, we believe the Asian handicap +0.5 in favour of the home team in the first half is of good value.
