Monaco

Preview
Arsenal and Monaco will face themselves at Emirates Stadium to the first leg of Champions League Last-16.
Arsène Wenger's team arrives to this match with eight wins in the last nine matches which shows their current form. In the last match they won 2-1 at Crystal Palace with two goals from Giroud. At the moment, Arsenal is third of the Premier League with 48 points.
Their french opponent comes from two recent wins. Anyway, their campaign hasn't been exactly superb as you can see from their two victories in the last five matches. Leonardo Jardim's team is currently at the fourth place of Ligue 1 with 43 points.
Their only previous meeting happened sometime ago in a friendly at the Emirates that Monaco won by 0-1. But you should not forget the superior quality of the british team, individually and as a team.

Analysis of Arsenal

Arsène Wenger won't count with Arteta, Oxlade, Ramsey and Flamini into this match, and that could be crucial.
Arsenal usually plays in a 4-3-3 formation using in the middle some strong players in the offensive process.
In the attack they have two great options: Giroud and Sánchez. The french is the striker - always present at the area and very good finisher - and Sánchez is pretty more of a winger but very capable of support the team in the middle as well, if necessary.
They usually commit some individual errors, especially when they need to defend counter attacks from a good team in that department.

Confirmed Lineup: D. Ospina, P. Mertesacker, Bellerín, L. Koscielny, K. Gibbs, M. Özil, Santi Cazorla, F. Coquelin, O. Giroud, A. Sánchez, D. Welbeck.
Coach: A. Wenger.

Analysis of Monaco

Monaco is not very regular in his performances. His style isn't attractive at all and they always get focused in their defensive process ignoring the attack for the most of a game. Even when they get into dangerous areas they use to fail the final pass or the finishing.
So, Monaco matches are regularly tight and with few goal opprtunities, and they have to make faith in their individual talents to create something.
Carrasco, Berbatov and Dirar are the three attackers of the french team. The bulgarian is the main reference in the area and his experience and individual talent are very useful. Dirar is very quick and strong in the dribble and creates many troubles in the opponent defences.
Monaco is a average team in all sectors. We can't see any sector of the pitch much stronger than other and all the players are in the same level.

Confirmed Lineup: D. Subašić, Wallace, A. Touré, A. Abdennour, E. Echiejile, Fabinho, N. Dirar, G. Kondogbia, João Moutinho, D. Berbatov, A. Martial.
Coach: Leonardo Jardim.

Betting suggestion:

We expect more goals in the second half of this match. Looking at the stats and the way Monaco defends away from home, it would be difficult to see many goal opportunities in the first 45 minutes. But in the second half things can open up.
