Analysis of Latvia

Latvia is traditionally one of the weakest European teams and has never been able to qualify for a World Cup, but in 2004 they have qualified for the Euro 2004, in which they were eliminated in a strong group with only 1 point conquered. In the last qualification matches for the World Cup they didn’t get good results and ended the qualification round in the penultimate place of the group.

In this qualification round they are also in a bad position. They are 5th of the group, with only 3 points and face a strong team in this match.

In the first half of this group stage, Latvia had their worst performance so far and lost 6-0 in an away match against Holland. But in the last match they have done well against the Czech Republic and tied 1-1, so they are focused in repeating the stunt against Holland.

Confirmed Lineup: A. Vanins, G. Freimanis, V. Jagodinskis, I. Tarasovs, V. Maksimenko, K. Gorkšs, A. Višņakovs, A. Zjuzins, J. Ikaunieks, V. Šabala, D. Rakels.
Coach: M. Pahars.

Analysis of Netherlands

Holland is traditionally one of the strongest European teams. They have had excellent results in the past and currently count on one of their strongest teams ever. In the last World Cups they had good results. In 2010 they finished 2nd and in 2014 they were 3rd. but in this qualification stage for the Euro 2016 they haven’t done as well as expected, so they need to recover from the points they have lost so far to avoid having to depend on the playoffs to qualify.

After the 2014 World Cup, including friendly matches, Holland has played 6 matches in 2014 and lost 4 in 5, conquering their only win over Kazakhstan, but in the last match of the year they had a large win over Latvia. In their only match in 2015, they had a disappointing exhibition in a home match against Turkey and didn’t do better than a 1-1 draw. However, Holland is in the 3rd position of the group and doesn’t depend on other than winning their matches to guarantee qualification.

Confirmed Lineup: J. Cillessen, B. Martins Indi, J. Willems, S. de Vrij, G. van der Wiel, D. Blind, W. Sneijder, R. van Persie, K. Huntelaar, L. Narsingh, M. Depay.
Coach: D. Blind.

Betting suggestion:

We expect this to be an easy match for Holland, who will try to take advantage of the head to head between the first two teams of the group to get closer to the 1st position. Therefore, Holland will probably attack a lot and control the match, so they are likely to score more than 2 goals.
