Santa Cruz

Preview:
This Saturday, Ceará and Santa Cruz face at the Castelão Stadium, in Fortaleza, in a match for the 8th round of the 2015 Brazilian B Series.

Analysis of Ceará

Ceará had a good 2014 season and were in the 1st place until the end of the first half of the season. But in the second half they had a few negative results and ended the league in the 8th position. This season they have once started well, with positive results in the North-eastern Cup and in the state championship. In the cup they won the title in a final against Bahia and in the state championship they lost the final against Fortaleza in the last minutes of the match. These positive results mean Ceará is one of the favourites to get A series access, but up to now they aren’t as strong as expected.

Although they have a few new players, Ceará seams to miss some of the players that have left the club, so their exhibitions haven’t been as consistent. They are currently in the 19ª position, with only 4 points, and haven’t won any of the last 5 matches, including 3 consecutive losses. They are one of the teams with the most losses so far. This Saturday, they face another team from the bottom of the table and therefore have a good chance to win precious points.

Confirmed Lineup: Tiago, Fernandinho, Gilvan, Charles, Buiu, Baraka, Uillian Correia, Ricardinho, Roger Gaúcho, Vinícius, Marinho.
Coach: Lisca.

Analysis of Santa Cruz

As their opponents, in the last season Santa Cruz had a good B Series and almost got access to the A Series, but in the last rounds they had a negative sequence of results and ended the league in the 9th position. But this year they have completely changed the squad and have had good results. They did well in the state championship and won against Salgueiro in the final.

These positive results and the fact that the club doesn’t have a lot of money to spend have led the board to maintain the squad without further changes. But so far this strategy didn’t have the desired results, so they have one a single much so far and are the 3rd worst of the league. They are now in the 18ª position, with 5 points, so the club has decided to bring in a new coach, Marcelo Martelotte, who will have his debut in this match against Ceará.

Confirmed Lineup: Fred, Lúcio, Wellington, Alemão, Danny Morais, João Paulo, Bruninho, Renatinho, Nininho, Nathan, Anderson Aquino.
Coach: Marcelo Martelotte.

Betting suggestion:

This is a match between two teams of a very similar level, without much tactical organization and weak defences. This scenario means they are both vulnerable when under pressure, so we believe both teams will score at least a goal.
