Chapecoense vs Joinville

This Wednesday, Chapecoense faces Joinville at the Arena Condá, in Chapecó, in a match for the 5th round of the Brazilian A Series.

Analysis of Chapecoense

In their debut season in the S series, Chapecoense didn’t do brilliantly last year and fought in the buttom end of the table until the last rounds, but still managed to guarantee maintenance a few rounds before the end. This year, they wish to avoid fighting against relegation until near the end. But 2015 didn’t start too well for this team. They had an irregular state championship and didn’t make it to the final. In the Brazil Cup, they were eliminated in the second round, in a balanced match against Sport, which they lost in a penalty shootout.
The board then decided to reinforce the squad and brought a few new players for key positions. Although they have won in away matches yet, they won all home matches. They are 10th in the league, with 6 points, and hope to maintain this position as long as possible.

Confirmed Lineup: Danilo, Rafael Lima, Vilson, Dener, Abuda, Elicarlos, Gil, Wagner, Bruno Silva, Ananias, Edmilson.
Coach: Guto Ferreira.

Analysis of Joinville

Joinville started 2015 with a lot of hope. After an excellent B Series league last year, which they won, they were favourites to win this year’s state championship. They confirmed their favouritism and won in the final against Figueirense, after two draws, because they had the most points conquered in the second stage. But apparently they have used a player irregularly and face punishment, which may take away their title.
Although they have kept the base of last year’s winning team, Joinville is the weakest team in the competition so far, since they are last with only 1 point conquered. Their biggest concern is their offense, which has only scored a goal so far and is the weakest in the competition. Their defence is poor too and is one of the worst in the league. But they now face a classic state duel and hope to overcome these past negative results.

Confirmed Lineup: Oliveira, Guti, Bruno Aguiar, Naldo, Héracles, Sueliton, Anselmo, Marcelo Costa, Augusto Cesar, Welinton, Rafael Costa.
Coach: Paulo César Gusmão.

Betting suggestion:

We expect a complicated and balanced match. Although Chapecoense is going through a negetive moment and seems weaker than their rivals, this is a state classic and anything can happen. There are no favourites in these matches. But both team’s styles favour goals, so we believe they are likely to score at least a goal each.
