Sport VS Santos

Analysis of Sport Recife

Sport has ended the State Championship in the third position and has celebrated their 110th anniversary with a 2-0 home win over Chapecoense, in a 2nd leg match for the Brazil Cup decided in penalties in favour of Sport (4-2).

In the Brazilian Championship, they have started well and are 3rd in the league. In this match, coach Eduardo Baptista should use his best players, who are united in support of keeper Magrão, recovering from an injury.

Joelinton, on the other hand, has recovered from an injury and is once again available. He is therefore likely to take Samuel’s place, who is also recovering from an injury.

Confirmed Lineup: Danilo Fernandes, Durval, Vitor, Ewerton Páscoa, Renê, Rithely, Neto Moura, Regis, Wendel, Mike, Joelinton.
Coach: Falcão.

Analysis of Santos

Santos, current State Champions, has started the Brasileirão with a draw against Avaí and a win over Cruzeiro. The team is motivated, but faces a tough match in this Brazil Cup round. Coach Marcelo Fernandes is aware of that, but is still likely to spare a few of the most used players.

This is obviously an important match and Marcelo Fernandes has stated that he privileges both competitions, however, he will probably spare a few players to be in full strength in the championship. He has used this strategy before with good results, since he has avoided injuries and the team has kept good performance levels.

Creative midfielder Lucas Lima should not be spared, though, since he is very important in the team’s offence. On the other hand, central defender Leonardo is likely to make his debut.

Confirmed Lineup: Vladimir, Victor Ferraz, David Braz, Werley, Chiquinho, Lucas Lima, Renato, E. Valencia, Robinho, Ricardo Oliveira, Geuvânio.
Coach: Dorival Júnior.

Betting suggestion:

In this Brazil Cup 3rd round, Sport has the home advantage and should arrive in full strength with the goal of getting a good result for the 2ng leg. Santos probably has the same goal, but should spare a few players to be in full strength in the championship. Therefore, given these circumstances, we expect Sport to be able to get, at least, a draw.
