Preview:
This Wednesday, Sport and Chapecoense face at Retiro Island, in Recife, in a 2nd leg match for the second stage of the 2015 Brazil Cup. This is a match between A Series teams. In the previous round, Sport eliminated CENE-MS after 2 wins, 2-1 in the 1st leg and 4-1 in the second. Chapecoense dominated Interporto-TO and eliminated the need for a 2nd leg match by winning 5-2 in an away match. In the 1st leg of this round, Chapecoense won 2-0.

Analysis of Sport Recife

Sport have done well in the State Championship and have lead the Hexagonal tournament, but faced a strong opponent in the semi-final and were eliminated by Salgueiro by losing the away match 2-0 and drawing 1-1 at home. In the Northeast Cup they have also lead the group and were eliminated by Bahia in the semi-final.

After a good last season in the last Brazilian Championship, in which they finished in a comfortable position and never had to worry about relegation, Sport start this year’s competition with a great match against another opponent from Santa Catarina. In a match against Figueirense’s reserve team, Sport dominated and won 4-1. Diego Souza was the mvp, creating most of the team’s best plays, and was calm enough to score 2 penalties. They now wish to keep up the pace and beat Chapecoense to come back from the 1st leg disadvantage.

Confirmed Lineup: Magrão, Durval, Oswaldo, Ewerton Páscoa, Rene, Diego Souza, Rithely, Rodrigo Mancha, Regis, Samuel, Joelinton.
Coach: Falcão.

Analysis of Chapecoense

Chapecoense have had an irregular beginning this year. They started well in the Catarinense Championship, leading the first stage and qualifying for the next. Unfortunately they had a few negative results and ended in the 3rd position, not qualifying for the final. After being eliminated from the State Championship, the team have had two weeks to prepare for the upcoming competitions. This rest seems to have had good results. In the 1st leg match, Chapecoense didn’t play beautifully, but still managed to control the match and score in the decisive moment and now have a comfortable advantage in this 2nd leg.

After a bad 2014 Brazilian Championship participation, in which they have struggled against relegation, Chapecoense started this year’s competition the best way. Playing at the Arena Condá against Coritiba, they conceded a goal at 3’, but managed to come back and win 2-1.

They have had problems with flights and didn’t travel to Pernambuco on schedule, so the team had to wait 9 hours at the airport. Therefore the club is now trying to postpone the match.

Confirmed Lineup: Danilo, Rafael Lima, Dener, Apodi, Vilson, Abuda, Elicarlos, Camilo, Gil, Ananias, Roger.
Coach: Guto Ferreira.

Betting suggestion:

This will be a hard match for both teams, but Sport will have to take risks in order to qualify, therefore, there is a tendency for an open match with some goal opportunities, so we believe there will be a few goals in this match and suggest an Over 2 Goals Asian Line handicap.
