Analysis of Criciúma

Criciúma’s exhibition in the away match against Grêmio was impressive. They played as if it was a world cup final, since coach Petkovic organized the team very well and got an excellent away win. Now, in their stadium, they wish to hold on to this good advantage and move on with the help of their supporters.

Petkovic is without a doubt the one who should take credit for this excellent result, since after his arrival the team has done nothing but to win. In the last round of the championship they won against Bahia at home, which has motivated both players and supporters.

Lucca has been confirmed in the starting line-up, as the rest of the players that faced Grêmio. In case of a tie Criciúma will qualify.

Confirmed Lineup: Luiz Silva, Fábio Ferreira, Guilherme Santos, Maicon, Wanderson, Rodrigo Andrade, Marcão, Wellington Reis, Juba, Lucca, Paulo Sérgio.
Coach: Roberto Cavalo.

Analysis of Grêmio

Nobody at the club would have expected such a negative week for the team, since coach Roger had had excellent results thus far and the team is now fighting for the first positions of the league and is one of the favourites to win the Brazil Cup. But they have lost against Tigre in a home match in which they created goal opportunities but didn’t score. Moreover, they also lost at the Maracanã, against Flamengo, by 1-0.

Grêmio’s starting line-up for this match is still a mystery, but they are usually well organized and surely haven’t forgotten how to play well, but truth is they haven’t had good exhibitions in the last 2 matches. Roger hasn’t yet confirmed if he will be making a few changes, particularly in offense.

Confirmed Lineup: Marcelo Grohe, F. Erazo, Rafael Galhardo, Marcelo Hermes, Pedro Geromel, Douglas, Maicon, Giuliano, Walace, Luan, Pedro Rocha.
Coach: Roger Machado.

Betting suggestion:

This is a match in which it’s very hard to pick a winner. Criciúma is clearly technically inferior and needs to play another perfect match, but they are highly motivated after the last wins. Therefore, Petkovic needs to control the team’s euphoria, since they have to play concentrated. We believe it will be an open match with goal opportunities for both teams.
