Analysis: Ponferradina vs Real Zaragoza (01 May 2016)

On Sunday Zaragoza visits the Nou Estadi de Tarragona in Tarragona, to take on Ponferradina in a match counting for the 36th round of Adelante League 2015/2016. This is a match between teams that are fighting for completely opposite situations in the competition. In the first leg of the race, Zaragoza won by 2-0.

      Analysis of Ponferradina

Ponferradina hasn’t been doing a very good participation in this Adelante League and so the team is in the fight against relegation already a few weeks ago. The team came to give hope to their fans when they passed a good time last month, but comes after three straight defeats that much hindered their plans and caused the resignation of Fabriciano González technician. Occupying currently the 19th place with 38 points, the team is just one point far from the relegation zone, needing to win this Sunday.

At home, Ponferradina has a good performance, winning most of their points as home team. Offensively the team is doing well at home, scoring an average of 1.41 goals per match. And defensively the income is reasonable, suffering an average of 1 goal per match as home team. In this weekend match, the coach Rubén Vega may have the absence of Sergio Aguza, who is recovering from injury.

      Analysis of Zaragoza

Zaragoza has been doing a very good recovery campaign this season and has been growing at the right time to reach the access. The team had some trouble at the beginning of the competition, but now comes after three straight wins that helped to rise significantly on the league table. Occupying currently the 3rd place with 55 points, the team is now in the fight for one of the direct places in the first division, but for this they need to win this weekend.

Playing as visiting team they conquered important points, but despite the irregularity presented, they lost only one of the last six matches and hope to do another good match this time. Their attack isn’t very well, scoring an average of 0.82 goals per match away home. But defensively the team has had a very good performance, suffering an average of 0.82 goals per match as a visitor. In this Sunday match, the coach Luis Carreras won’t count on Lanza and Culio, suspended, and Jesus Vallejo and Hinestroza, injured.

      Betting suggestion:

This is a match where teams have very different styles of play, but both are equal to not having solidity in the defensive tactical sector neither marking quality. The trend is to have an open match, with clear score chances for both sides. So, a bet on over 1.5 goals seems of great value.
