Analysis: LDU Quito vs Toluca (11 March 2016)

This Friday, LDU and Toluca face at Liga Deportiva Universitaria Stadium, Quito, in a match for the 3rd round of Libertadores Cup.

      Analysis of LDU Quito

LDU is one of the traditionally strongest teams of Ecuador and has won several continental titles in the past. The home team got access to this competition after having finished 1st in the regular season of the national league. But they were unlucky in the group draw, since they are fighting to qualify in a very balanced group.
The Ecuadorian team comes to this match with a reinforced squad and a new coach, but they are in their best shape yet, since in 3 matches for the national league they have only won a single point. In the Libertadores Cup they had a positive debut, since they have beaten San Lorenzo at home. But in the following round they suffered a heavy 4-0 loss against Grêmio. Coach Claudio Borghi will not be able to count on Luis Romero, who has been suspended.

      Analysis of Toluca

Toluca is one of the strongest Mexican teams and won access to the Libertadores after having finished 2nd in the 2015 Apertura, although they have been eliminated before reaching the final. The club reinforced the squad, but the team has yet to reach its full potential.
In the Mexican League, they haven’t won any of the last 8 matches and register 3 consecutive losses, so they are currently in the bottom half of the table. At the Libertadores they have won 4 points in the first 2 rounds, so a draw in this match would be an interesting result. Coach José Cardozo will not be able to count on injured Fernando Uribe.

      Betting suggestion:

This is a match between teams of very different styles, but both present defensive weaknesses, so there is a tendency for an open match, with goal opportunities in both goals. Therefore, the Over 1.5 goals is of good value.
