Analysis: LDU Quito vs San Lorenzo (23 February 2016)

On Tuesday, San Lorenzo visit to Liga Deportiva Universitaria Stadium, in Quito, Ecuador, to take on LDU in a match counting for the first match of the group stage of the Libertadores Cup 2016. This is a valid match for Group 6, also counts on Grêmio and Toluca.

      Analysis of LDU Quito

A team with some tradition in continental competitions, LDU was already Libertadores champion in the past, and could return to competition after a good campaign in the first stage of the Ecuadorian Championship, on which they made great participation and was crowned champion. In the big final of the competition, they were eventually beaten by Emelec and had to settle for the runner-up. For this season, the team comes greatly modified and with some uncertainties.

The main change occurs in command of the team, which is now led by Argentine Claudio Borghi. The squad has several ribs, but the team wasn’t very good in the matches they played this season and hasn’t won. Playing at home the team has a lot of strength, knowing very well to take advantage of the 2850 meters of altitude, which always count for much in favor of their team. To achieve a victory in this opening match, Borghi should have all their players at their disposal.

      Analysis of San Lorenzo

San Lorenzo is also a traditional team, which finally achieved his dreamt Libertadores title two seasons ago and now hopes to repeat the dose. To reach the competition, the team had a great campaign in the Argentine championship last season, where he was vice-champion. This year the team ended up losing their coach Edgardo Bauza, who went to Sao Paulo, hiring Pablo Guede for his place.

The team is also with a greatly enhanced squad, once that many new faces arrived. In this start to the season, San Lorenzo has been performing well in the Argentine championship, and managed to have a good use especially offensively. In the match this Tuesday, to be with the attack once again in a good journey is essential to surprise and leave Quito with a win. For this, the coach Pablo Guede must have at their disposal a squad without absences.

      Betting suggestion:

A match between distinct styles of play teams, but teams that are equivalent in the field for having a strong technical quality in the squad. Playing at home, LDU tends to be very solid, as well as the visiting team tends to be more daring in this confrontation, leaving for the match and exposing themselves. As the match seems to be balanced, we believe that both teams will have chances to score, so, a bet on both teams to score seems of great value.
