Analysis: Ponferradina vs Córdoba (20 February 2016)

This Saturday, Ponferradina hosts Cordoba in El Toralin stadium, in Ponferrada. This game is for the 26th round of Liga Adelante 2015/2016. In this match, we'll have the meeting of two teams that are fighting for different objectives, with Ponferradina looking to stay clear of the relegation zone and Cordoba fights for the playoff spot to Division I. In the first half of the league, Cordoba won 1-0.

      Analysis of Ponferradina

Ponferradina started Liga Adelante very well. They were in the fight for promotion spots and were playing above average. But they started playing very bad and the positive results stopped happening. The team is winless for 9 rounds, and has been scoreless for the last 6 matches, dropping to the 16th place, with 28 points, only 3 more than the first team in the relegation zone. During this streak, coach Manolo Diaz was fired and the interins Tomas Nistal and Ruben Vega are still looking for the team's first win.

Playing at home, the team had a great performance, but is also winless, for the last 4 matches. The team's offense was excellent, scoring 2,25 goals per game, but they haven't scored a goal in the last 4 matches and now the average is 1,5 per game. Defensively, they are one of the worst teams, conceding an average of 0,83 goals per game. For this weekend, Tomas Nistale and Ruben Vega should be without Roberto Santamaria, who is hurt.

      Analysis of Córdoba

Last season, Cordoba was in Division I, but poor play had the team relegated. The team entered 2016 with a lot of changes, but still managed a good year at Liga Adelante. Currently, they are going through their roughest patch in the competition, they haven't won in the last 4 games, with 3 losses. With this current streak they are in 5th place, with 40 points. In the fight to stay in the playoff zone, they must win.

Playing away from home, they have a very inconsistent record, but are still managing to escape with a few important points. Their attacking side is a lot worse playing away from home, scoring only 1,17 goals per match. Just like the attack, the defense is worse away from home, 1,5 goals conceded. For this Saturday, seeking rehabilitation, coach Jose Luis Oltra won't be able to count with Xisco, who is hurt and Xisco Jimenez who is suspended.

      Betting suggestion:

A matchup between two offensive minded teams, where both don't have defensive solitude and lack quality in their defensive players. So it is expected a match with a lot of scoring opportunities, so a bet backing over 1,5 goals is of great value.
