Analysis: Kilmarnock vs Celtic (22 January 2020)

      Analysis of Kilmarnock

With a short path to the team's goals so far, Kilmarnock arrives on this 22nd matchday of the Premiership, which marks the return of the Scottish championship after a stopover that lasts for three weeks, in 7th position, with a record with almost as many defeats as the sum of wins and draws. With 23 points, the distance to the places of access to the championship round is two points (Hibernian and Livingston are the closest teams). Without any victory in the last seven rounds, Alexander Dyer's team kicked off the crisis (five consecutive defeats) last weekend, in the first match of 2020. In the reception to the modest Queen's Park, from League Two, Kilmarnock won without any difficulties, with final numbers of 6-0.

      Analysis of Celtic

Leading the standings with a two-point advantage over Rangers, yet another game played compared to their rivals, Celtic is having a truly brilliant path, but not enough to have walked with the same tranquility of the last seasons towards the goal of the revalidation of the title of Scottish champion. In the last game of 2020, Neil Lennon's team was surprised at home, losing in the classic "Old Firm" against Rangers, by 2-1, allowing the approach and placing the isolated leadership at the mercy of the rival. Upon returning to the competition, Celtic dominated and won, by 2-1, when they went to Partick's ground, from the second division, in a match held last Saturday, referring to the 4th round of the FA Cup.

      Betting suggestion:

This will be a match in which Celtic should dominate on a large scale, although the fact of having more possession of the ball and more opportunities for goal does not, in itself, guarantee a positive result, because, as a rule, the Scottish champion does not manage capitalize with great efficiency. In that sense, it is not expected a rout, against a Kilmarnock who has managed to concede few goals in recent times, but who feels enormous difficulties to create problems in the last third. Before the leader and champion, the problems are expected to increase, leading to a game with great supremacy of Celtic, but few goals in the end.
