Regulation

Each team plays 38 rounds, totaling 380 matches throughout the championship. The system is in consecutive points, in first and second leg, and whoever scores the most points is declared Italian champion. In addition to the champion, the runner-up, the third and fourth placed win a place in the Champions League. The fifth place has the right to access the Europa League group stage.

The relegation rules keep the usual pattern. The three worst teams at the end of the season are relegated to the second division.

Dates

Among the major leagues, Serie A is the one that starts later. While in other countries the ball is already rolling this weekend, in Italy the initial round is scheduled for August 21st. The end of the season is scheduled for May 22, 2022.

How the main teams arrive

Juventus bets again on Massimiliano Allegri to lead the team, as in terms of the change of squad almost nothing has changed. The team has the European champions defender duo and Cristiano Ronaldo commanding the offensive sector. In all other positions they have quality players and will fight for the title.

Inter Milan traded last season's best player, Romelu Lukaku, and good right-back A. Hakimi. Thry will need to restore the Belgian's sale if they want to fight for the cup, because in addition to the Italian championship, they will have the Champions League ahead. At least the team has cash. Their rival Milan lost the goalkeeper Donnarumma, considered one of the best in the world, who went to PSG. The team has a squad capable of fighting for the top positions, but the title lacks an extra quality.

Napoli start the season with Spaletti as a coach and a new face in the squad, Matteo Napolitano from Inter. The team is always competitive and can go far, but in the Italian league they should look for a place in the Champions League. The great generation formed in recent years is gradually aging or leaving, and it will be up to the club to renew the team.

A pleasant team to watch is Atalanta. Gasperini puts on the field a team of intense movement and offensive play, and goals are not lacking in their matches. Faced with a good rapport and with players assimilating their coach's ideas, the expectation is for a season fighting for the top three positions.

Roma and Lazio have lived days of glory and today the fight is over who goes to the Europa League, or who knows how to pinch a place in the Champions. Mourinho took over Roma, while Sarri is ahead of Lazio. At least regarding the coaches, both teams are well represented.
